Anxiety

Anxiety, a word we hear often in today's world however the impacts are often underestimated however understood at Anchorpoint therapy. We acknowledge anxiety can become present for various reasons at times those experiencing these responses can be unaware of "where" the anxiety has come from. The experiences of anxiety can be debilitating and vary from physical sensations such as a rapid heartbeat to feelings of nausea and exhaustion, to cognitive responses such as racing thoughts or thoughts of disaster. We offer a calm and gentle space to learn new way's to respond to such experiences, tailoring strategies to your individual needs with the underpinning of evidence based techniques.

Family Violence

Family Violence can have such long term and adverse impacts on any individual and family. The trauma experienced within such relationships often expands beyond the relationship and often into the survivors wider life impacting relationships with family, friends and colleagues. Many do not grasp the significant complexity that comes with surviving a harmful and unsafe relationship, At Anchorpoint therapy anyone experiencing Family Violence is always welcome to seek support here. With our person centred and trauma informed approach to support, we recognise you are the expert in your relationship. From support in safety planning, working through traumatic experiences and supporting you in re-building your confidence and self, we know the courage it has taken for you to reach out.

Depression can look different on any one person whether it be ongoing low mood, loss of appetite, lack of sleep or high sleep needs, a sense of disconnect, emotional exhaustion or feeling depleted, its effects can be incredibly harmful.
At Anchorpoint therapy we recognise that depression is not just about working with unhelpful thoughts, but is about working with the entire body and understanding the connection and communication systems between the brain and gut, resulting in depressive symptoms that go beyond emotional wellbeing.
